For commercial and industrial applications

RMS Rainwater Harvesting Controllers

At Rainwater Management Solutions (RMS), we design and build industry‑leading control systems that bring intelligence, reliability, and ease of operation to rainwater harvesting systems of all sizes. As an approved UL 508A Panel Shop, RMS designs, programs, and assembles all controllers in‑house, ensuring every panel meets the highest standards for quality, safety, and performance.  Factory testing verifies input/output functionality, logic, alarming, and communication prior to field installation.

RMS controllers are purpose‑built for a wide array of applications and can be customized to meet the unique requirements of any project—from small-scale reuse systems to large, industrial, fully automated building-wide installations.

Human-Machine Interface & Communications

The RMS 200, 200 Mini, and 150 Controllers incorporate a color touch‑screen interface for system visualization, configuration, and diagnostics.

The HMI provides graphical status, alarm indication, parameter entry, and operator control.

The RMS 200 and 200 Mini Controller incorporate standardized serial communication capabilities to support seamless integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Building Management Systems (BMS).

Communication is provided through an RS‑485 physical interface utilizing the MODBUS RTU protocol, allowing external supervisory systems to perform both monitoring and control functions over a reliable, industry‑standard fieldbus. BACnet protocol is available as an option.

Input/Output (I/O) Architecture

The I/O subsystem of the RMS Controller is designed as a flexible, modular architecture that supports a wide range of field devices used in rainwater harvesting, pumping, level monitoring, and mechanical system automation. The controller’s hardware accommodates variations in project configuration by allowing each available input and output channel to be individually assigned, mapped, and configured through software, enabling it to adapt to differing tank geometries, sensor types, pump arrangements, and site‑specific control strategies.

These PLCs act as the central intelligence of advanced rainwater systems. They continuously monitor digital and analog inputs in order to:

  • Control pumps, valves, solenoids, and filtration components
  • Track tank levels, pressure, turbidity, and system performance
  • Display real-time system information in an intuitive interface
  • Provide audible and visual alarms with an integrated LED panel
  • Communicate with Building Automation Systems (BAS) for remote monitoring

Each controller allows maintenance teams or building operators to quickly assess system status, troubleshoot issues, and optimize water reuse efficiency.

RMS Run Light (RL) Control Panel for Light Commercial and Residential Applications

The RL Series Run Light Control Panel is a compact, customizable controller engineered to provide reliable pump control and system status indication for both residential and light commercial rainwater applications. Designed with versatility in mind, the RL Series integrates seamlessly with various system configurations, offering intuitive monitoring through LED indicators, float inputs, and optional accessories.

The RL Series accepts mechanical float switch signals to detect low and high-water levels, provide pump cutoff, and display system readiness, pump activity, valve position, and fault/override conditions using clearly labeled LED indicators.

With a wide range of optional components and electrical configurations, the RL Series can be tailored to your project’s specific requirements. Available enhancements include solenoid valve integration, operator interface elements, alarm packages, and disconnect devices.

  • NEMA 4X enclosure
  • LED indicator sets (run, fault, valve status, readiness, level)
  • Mechanical float switches (1–3)
  • Pump relay or mechanical pump switch
  • Alarm package with red light, test/silence
  • AC or DC solenoid outputs
  • HOA selector switch
  • Circuit breaker or non‑disconnect input
  • Wiring harness and terminal strip
