Advanced Add‑On Components for Commercial Rainwater Harvesting Systems

Rainwater Management Solutions (RMS) provides a comprehensive suite of specialized system add‑ons engineered to optimize performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance for commercial-scale rainwater harvesting infrastructure. These components integrate seamlessly with RMS control platforms and treatment systems to meet the demanding requirements of institutional, industrial, and municipal projects.

Day Tank Systems

For high-demand commercial applications requiring elevated flow rates or system pressures, RMS offers engineered Day Tank Systems designed to stabilize water supply and ensure uninterrupted service.

  • A transfer pump moves water from the primary cistern through the treatment skid into a dedicated Day Tank
  • A booster pump draws from the Day Tank to deliver consistent, pressurized water to end-use points
  • Ideal for large campuses, mix-use buildings, process facilities, multi‑story buildings, and high‑pressure reuse applications

Engineering Consideration: Treatment skids must not be located on the suction side of booster pumps to prevent cavitation and ensure optimal equipment longevity.

Dye Injection

Dye injection systems provide a controlled way to introduce color markers into a rainwater distribution line, helping facility teams visually confirm system flow, detect cross‑connections, or identify leaks. These systems use an integrated pump, flow switch, and solution tank to accurately dose dye into the system as needed, ensuring reliable monitoring without disrupting overall operation.

System Monitoring & Flow Control

RMS integrates a wide range of sensors and valve technologies to enhance monitoring, automation, and system responsiveness. All components are compatible with RMS controllers, including the RMS 200 Series and RMS 200 Mini.

Sensor Options for Strategic Monitoring

  • Flow sensors
  • Level sensors
  • Water quality sensors:

    1. Oxygen
    2. pH and chlorine
    3. ORP
    4. Turbidity
    5. Temperature
  • Pressure monitoring:

    1. Differential pressure
    2. Pressure transducers
    3. Pressure gauges

Flow Control

  • Motorized valves
  • Ball valves
  • Butterfly valves
  • Modulating and 3‑way valves
  • Check Valves
  • Reduced Pressure Zone Assemblies (RPZs)
  • Pressure Reducing Valves (PRVs)

RMS maintains strategic relationships with leading manufacturers, ensuring technically validated and fully integrated system solutions.

Backup Water Supply

To ensure uninterrupted water availability during drought or low‑rainfall periods, RMS provides engineered makeup water solutions for commercial facilities.

  • Solenoid or actuated valves
  • Reduced Pressure Zones (RPZ) for code-compliant backflow protection
  • Normally closed float switches for level‑based automation

These components ensure that potable or alternate water sources supplement the system reliably and safely when rainwater supply is insufficient.

Operational Value of These Advanced Add-On Solutions

  • Enhanced System Reliability
  • Superior Automation & Monitoring
  • Adaptability to Complex Project Requirements
  • Regulatory Compliance & Safety
